Live Free or Die Hard's Mark Bomback provides the script for the 20th Century Fox production, co-starring Rosario Dawson. The plot surrounds two locomotive operators who team up to stop a runaway train filled with explosives. Here's the AMG synopsis of the film: Denzel Washington and Star Trek's Chris Pine star in this action thriller from director Tony Scott. IMPAwards throws this image out there, and um.why isn't there a train on it? Is 2010 America so disinterested in trains that a movie about a runaway train gets a one-sheet that doesn't even have tracks? (The sparks in the text path are obviously from the wheels as the brakes fail, but that's pretty abstract.) At least we know the film is based on a true story.

#UNSTOPPABLE MOVIE POSTER 2010 FULL#
And Denzel Washington is probably thinking, "so.is this the Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 poster again?" See the full image, after the break. Chris Pine has really been photographed and Photoshopped to put his best Josh Holloway forward. Thousands of lives hang in the balance as these ordinary heroes attempt to chase down one million tons of hurtling steel and prevent an epic disaster.Look quick at this poster for the Tony Scott thriller Unstoppable and you might think you're staring at half an ad for the Lost movie we thought would never happen. A runaway train, transporting deadly, toxic chemicals, is barreling down on Scranton, Pennsylvania, and only two men can stop it: a veteran engineer (Washington) and a young conductor (Pine). Hang on for the ride of your life as Oscar® Winner Denzel Washington and Chris Pine (Star Trek) team up for the year’s most electrifying action-thriller. And although it's faint praise, the movie is undeniably better than Pelham 123. But the pulse does quicken, if you can turn your mind off for a while. It's all so aggressive, it makes you wish the exciting story could be allowed to tell itself. Scott is an unabashed manipulator, and he yanks all the strings at his disposal for this whipped-up pageant: song cues, hype-filled reaction shots, stunts aplenty. This odd couple is the only hope for stopping the runaway, while upper management dithers and an operations-room dispatcher (Rosario Dawson) spends most of the movie talking into her headset. Did we mention that it's pulling a few cars' worth of highly toxic material? Did you doubt it would be? Meanwhile, old-time engineer Denzel Washington and new conductor Chris Pine are making a routine run nearby-of course, in the movies, a r outine run almost always turns into something wild. They’re chasing the runaway train in a separate locomotive and need to bring it under control before it derails on a curve and causes a toxic spill that will decimate a town. Synopsis: A 20th Century Fox drama about a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals, pits an engineer and his conductor in a race against time. At a Pennsylvania rail yard, some clueless workers let an unmanned train get loose, and the thing is soon hurtling across the countryside. 20th Century Fox has released the first poster for Tony Scott‘s thriller Unstoppable, starring Chris Pine and Denzel Washington. With the caboose of Scott's Taking of Pelham 123 barely in the distance, the filmmaker turned to Unstoppable, a train-chase picture loosely inspired by a true story (and perhaps just a smidgen by Runaway Train, the 1985 film based on an Akira Kurosawa script). Orson Welles once said that directing a movie was like playing with the greatest toy train set in the world, and Tony Scott seems to be taking him literally. You can watch this with your whole family. It was refreshing to see an old-fashioned-type movie where the good guys triumph and the filmmakers saw no need to splatter the screen with blood & gore. It's exciting and suspenseful, but no children are harmed and no toxic chemicals explod e, so the anticipated disaster is averted.and really, there's nothing wrong with that. No one can stop the train or get aboard.except Denzel Washington, showing his age but proving he's still got what it takes to be an action hero, and Chris Pine, the young gun who, with Denzel as his mentor, morphs into a similarly heroic figure. Then it's headed for some storage tanks filled with explosives. The train picks up speed, heading for another train, filled with schoolchildren. There is no one else on the train, and several cars are loaded with toxic chemicals. An engineer stupidly jumps off a train while leaving the throttle in the Full Speed Ahead position, then misjudges how fast the train is moving & is unable to jump back aboard. UNSTOPPABLE is a disaster film without any disaster. Suspenseful film, appropriate for family viewing
